Heat Wave Weekend
Happy Sunday everyone! Yup, here we are again, another week gone and already Sunday evening again. Let's see what I can write about last week. The week was busy as is always the case these days. Tuesday we had a happy hour after work hosted by one of our vendors/partner companies which was fun. Thursday I had a dentist cleaning which was less fun but uneventful all in all.
The weekend has been a scorcher. The weather has been so crazy. It was cold for so long and now has switched to mid 90 degree weather (35C). Luckily it was just for the weekend, going to go back down to 70ies and 80ies for the week. But yeah climate change is definitely real people. We never seem to get a true spring or fall anymore. It's just hot or cold and not much in between.
Yesterday, Saturday, we went to Westport to have lunch at Rizzuto's and then caught up on some TV at home. And today, Sunday, we went to see the new Dr. Strange Marvel movie. FInally got to go to the newly re-opened Bethel Cinema - now Greenwood Features. Glad that they have reopened. When we got out of the movies we were caught in Bethel's Memorial Day Parade and couldn't leave the parking lot so we sat and watched the parade because what else can you do? :) Afterwards caught a late brunch at Edison and eventually will go home and catch up on more TV.
Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend and we booked 2 nights (Sat-Mon) away in the Finger Lakes in upstate NY. Always a fun place to be and hang out. Such pretty scenery and of course lot of great wineries.

Eurovision and Winery Weekend
And here we are, Monday again. I have been so behind with my updating and writing.
So let's see. Last weekend we were at Rizzutos Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday we went to see the new Fantastic Beats movie which I liked. Mike wasn't as into it but then that's to be expected with sequels I guess. I thought it was still good, just a bit long but then that's also a thing with most movies lately, that they are just too long.
Then the week was a normal busy week. This weekend on Saturday we went to Rosy Tomorrow's for lunch as I wanted to be sure to be home for 3pm so I could watch the Eurovision Song Contest. Ukraine won which was expected and exciting in its own way. Let's see how that plays out with them hosting next year but I assume somebody will step in if need be. Watching Eurovision is a tradition for me so it's always fun even though it's super cheesy and over the top.
Sunday the weather was supposed to be a bit shifty weather wise but worked out well. We went to two wineries in Wallingford. Started at Gouveia and then switched to Paradise Hill. Had a great time and day sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Really couldn't have asked for more. Of course I got a little sunburned but not too bad. Need to remember that we are in that season/period of the year again where I really need to remember to bring the sunscreen with me because I burn so easily.
And well now it's Monday morning and I am not sure I am ready for another week but it is what it is I guess, right? So full steam ahead.

Back in the US of A
Hello from back in Connecticut. :) Got back on Wednesday and today is Sunday and the jetlag is finally starting to ease up. Usually I am not that affected by it especially coming back to the States but I think having been away for 3 weeks just messed with my system. But finally getting back into the normal swing of things and routine.
Worked on Monday, then had Tuesday off to run some errands, get my Covid pre-departure test, pack and so on. Wednesday was my travel day. Had a 4 hour connection in Dublin which kind of worked out since my first flight from Vienna to Dublin was over 2 hours delayed. There were mechanical issues and problems with the engine and they couldn't tell me if I would even make the connection but it all ended up working out in the end. Landing at JFK was no fun either as there were really strong winds which caused us to bounce all over the sky during landing. But like I said it all worked out ok in the end. Since I was able to pre-clear US customs/immigration in Dublin I didn't have to go through immigration/customs when landing so that helped speed up things for sure.
Thursday and Friday I worked. Thursday is a bit of a blur between jetlag and some work events (celebrations for a 60th birthday of a coworker as well as a retirement party/ pot luck during lunch and happy hour after work)
The weekend flew by of course as well but I guess isn't that always the way? Saturday we went to the movies and then had lunch at Flipside. Went for a walk when we got home in the late afternoon and then made a yum salmon & vegetable farro dinner and binged some "Bridgerton" season 2.
Today, Sunday, we met up with our friends Robin & Ashley at Rizzuto's in Westport. And eventually going to start the last season of "Ozark". And well tomorrow is Monday again and a whole new week ahead.
