David Garrett, a rainy day off and lots of tea :)
Finally another update. This past weekend we went up to New Hampshire to see David Garrett. It was really amazing to see him perform live. I would definitely see him again and am looking forward to his next tour. He is playing in Vienna in November in a big concert hall with a full orchestra. I would love to see that but I doubt that will be possible. When we saw him he had a small band with him (drums, base, guitar, keyboard) but they still managed to produce an amazing sound.
It's been raining and really dreary the past two days. I am off from work today so I don't mind so much. It's nice to sleep in when it's raining outside plus it makes for good "drink tea and read" weather. :) Was able to catch up on a few things around the house, answer some emails, etc.
Next I will probably try and work on my Rosetta Stone since I haven't worked on my Spanish what feels like ages. After that I will probably make myself another big mug of tea, curl up on the couch with the cats and read. And maybe watch some more David Garrett video clips. :)
Short mail update for today. Letter going out tomorrow to: David/IN, Charles/TN, Celia/MA and Kimber/Canada. Received letters from/still owe replies to: Emilia/Finland, Jetta/Finland and Eunice/Malta.

Welcome Spring!!
Wow, what a gorgeous spring weekend. We definitely got spoiled with the weather this week and especially this weekend. Yesterday it was in the 70ies (around 20C), sunny and just really nice.
We went into NYC to take advantage of the beautiful day and took a nice long walk. Ended up walking close to 7 miles but it was the perfect day for strolling around the city. Started on the West Side where we usually park and walked along the waterfront, then over to High Line park which was neat and through the Village over to and across the Brooklyn Bridge. After our walk we had dinner at Cafe Steinhof (Austrian restaurant) in Brooklyn. Definitely a great day.
Today we had breakfast at a local diner and then I caught up on some letters/emails and took care of a few things around the house. Wish that weekends didn't go by that fast.
Next weekend we are heading up to Concord, NH to seeDavid Garett live. Looking forward to that. Feels like ages ago that we got those tickets. I don't think the weather will be quite as gorgeous as this weekend but that's ok. We won't really be outside that much.
I am just glad to know that spring is finally around the corner and there is hope for the weather getting nicer again. I am so sick of the cold and the snow. Hopefully no more of that this year!!
Short mail update for today. Letter going out tomorrow to: Nina/WA, Carmen/Malta and Jessica/DE. Received letters from/still owe replies to: David/IN, Charles/TN, Celia/MA, Emilia/Finland, Kimber/Canada and Jetta/Finland.

Rainy weekend
Can't believe it's already time to change over to Daylight Savings Time tonight. I wish they hadn't changed it so we do this two or three weeks earlier than Europe now. I was so happy that I finally didn't have to get up in the dark again anymore. Well so much for that. Annoying.
Not doing a whole lot this weekend. It's supposed to rain all weekend so we are just staying home, vegging out, catching up with a few chores but mostly surfing the web, watching shows/movies, etc. I have some emails I should answer and definitely letters. I will try to get to that tomorrow. I think for today I am just going to grab my Kindle and continue reading "The Glass Lake" by Maeve Binchy with some tea. Perfect reading and drinking tea weather. :)
Yesterday was a great day for travel bookings as well. Booked a flight to Austria for July (will be there July 15-July 27, almost two weeks) and it only cost $100 in taxes since we used miles. That's an awesome deal for a flight to Europe in the middle of summer. Plus on the way back I will be connecting through London and flying on Virgin Atlantic in business class. How very cool. :) I looked it up on their website and they even have a bar in their business class cabin.
We also booked another flight to Atlanta for mid May. Going back to see a baseball game, NY Mets vs. Atlanta Braves. Plus May should mean nicer weather. We will be going Sat-Tues. Also booked that flight with miles so just cost us $70 in taxes for the both of us.
Short mail update for today. Letter went out on Thursday to Lotte/Denmark. Received letters from/still owe replies to: Jessica/DE, Carmen/Malta, Emilia/Finland, Nina/WA, Kimber/Canada and Jetta/Finland.

Low key weekend
And another week gone by. Can't believe it's March already. I have never been a big fan of March. We had pretty nice weather this weekend. Sunny and around 50F. But it's still chilly to me and everything is so brown and gray, muddy and ugly. I am happier when things start to turn green again, the trees get leaves, flowers start to bloom etc.
The picture on the left shows Mike and me at the zoo in Atlanta last weekend. Definitely a fun weekend. This weekend was pretty low key in comparison. Worked on Saturday and today I have caught up with a few things around the house (dishes, laundry, emails, etc) Still have quite a pile of letters to answer but I will catch up with that eventually I suppose. Will try and get some Rosetta Stone in now. Feels like I haven't practised my Spanish in ages.
Later we are going to have some snacks (cheese+crackers, veggies+dip) and watch the Oscars, maybe have a bottle of wine. Should be fun. I always enjoy watching the Oscars.
Short mail update for today. Letter went out on Tuesday to Celia/MA. Received letters from/still owe replies to: Emilia/Finland, Nina/WA, Kimber/Canada, Jetta/Finland, Lotte/Denmark.
