Cold again ... I am really ready for spring ...
... or at least Puerto Rico next week. Only one more week to go. Our flight leaves on Sunday next week but we are spending the day in NYC on Saturday and then staying at a hotel right by Newark airport so it's really as if our trip starts on Saturday. :)
Will be a busy week at work coming up. Lots to organize before we go., A lot of the school will be on winter break the week we get back so I need to organize all their schedules and deliveries next week so it's all set. But at least I have the trip to keep me motivated and something to look forward to. Definitely not a bad thing with the freezing cold weather we have been having again lately.
Was supposed to be off work on Thursday but that didn't quite pan out due to an unexpected snowstorm. At least I only had to work till 1pm today and was able to spend the afternoon at home, relaxing and taking care of some things around the house. Should be home tomorrow as well so I will be able to maybe catch up with a few letters, work on my Rosetta Stone, etc.
Short mail update for today. Letters went out on Monday to: Carmen/Malta and Charles/TN. Received letters from/still owe replies to: Lotte/Denmark, Jessica/DE, Eunice/Malta, Alex/Germany, Celia/MA, Nina/WA and Kimber/Canada.

Finally Friday!!
So it's finally Friday, thank god. I don't know why but this week just dragged way too much. Nothing bad really happened. I have a new employee who seems to be doing ok. Of course it's always a little bit more work at first during the training period but other than that nothing else really happened. So not a bad week, it just felt like it would never end.
Not working tomorrow so that's nice. We are going to spend the day in the city. We originally wanted to go and see the Tim Burton exhibit but it was sold out for Saturday when we looked on Wednesday so we decided on something else. Going to the Bronx Zoo instead. Mike hasn't seen the Madagascar exhibit yet which is really neat. After that we will have a late lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe at Yankee Stadium. A whole day spent in the Bronx, not sure we have done that before. Well either way, I am sure it will be a nice day.
Puerto Rico is only 2 weeks away now. Yay. :) And we just booked another short trip too. Found some really cheap airfare so we are going to visit a friend in Atlanta at the very end of February. Just a short trip, 2 nights, Sat-Mon. Will be nice to see him again though plus some time away is always nice.

Weekend Update
Not very much new here with me really. I am feeling much, much better and am happy to be over that stomach bug from last weekend. What a horrible experience.
Work was busy this week. Being short handed is never a good thing. I did hire somebody new so after the initial training period goes by we should hopefully be in better shape. Have somebody on vacation until Wed next week so after that things might be a little better again. Let's see how it goes.
No other huge news really. Finally getting back into my Spanish Rosetta Stone a little bit more and catching up with some emails and letters. We still need to take our Christmas deco down. Yes, I know it's mid January but we just haven't gotten around to it. I figure nobody else can see it so it's not the end of the world. I will make sure it's down by the end of the month. LOL.
Really looking forward to our Puerto Rico trip which is only 3 weeks away now. Yay. :) Can't wait for some sunshine, ocean and palm trees. No big plans for tonight. Going to catch up on some shows and get pizza. Hopefully I'll be off next weekend. Thinking about going to NY to see the Tim Burton exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. We also want to check out the Hard Rock Cafe at Yankee Stadium because we haven't been there yet.

Is it spring yet?
Finally another post from me. I have definitely felt like hibernating lately but it hasn't quite worked out for me yet. It's been so cold and snowy. I know I shouldn't complain because other parts of the country are getting hit much much worse than us but I am still sick of the cold. It seems to be an all over phenomenon at the moment. My friends in England and Germany are telling me the same things and even in Florida they are getting frost and ice. Brrrr.
Not been up to too much otherwise. Busy at work as always. Worked last Saturday, then we went out to an early dinner and came home to watch some shows. By the time we went to bed at 10:30 pm I was having stomach cramps and sure enough I spent the whole night in the bathroom puking and whatnot. Horrible. Sunday I was pretty much out of it for most of the day. Just spent the day on the couch flipping through the channels on the TV and trying to get some fluids back in me. Ended up staying home yesterday too. Felt better but was still kind of lightheaded and dizzy plus really, really tired. No energy at all. I am mostly better today but my appetite is still lacking. I guess that will come back on its own. It's just weird for me because usually I am always thinking/talking about food and always hungry. :)

Fun Day in NYC
And the three day weekend is already over again. Time flies. We definitely had a nice weekend. No complaints there. New Year's Eve we went out to dinner and came home around 9pm. Then watched some TV and switched over to the Times Square broadcast around 11:30pm. Watched the ball drop and then stayed up a watching some other coverage from Las Vegas etc. Ended up going to bed around 2am.
Friday we took it easy staying home, relaxing. I watched the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Day concert I recorded which was fun. Saturday we spent the afternoon in NYC. Went to Bryant Park where they have a really neat setup this year. A ice skating rink, Christmas tree, lots of booths with crafts, food, etc. and a neat bar/restaurant. We had lunch and some drinks at the restaurant which was fun. Then headed over to Rockefeller Center to check out the tree there. Also walked around the NBC studio store which was fun. Our play was at 8pm and after that we had dinner at an Italian restaurant. Delicious lasagna and chocolate mousse. Didn't get home till close to 2am but it was definitely worth it. Such a nice day!!
Today we stayed home again, taking it easy. I answered some emails and browsed the web. Not sure I am ready for a full week at work tomorrow but I guess will just have to make the best out of it and our little Puerto Rico vacation isn't all that long away. Only about a month.
