One more day
I don't think I have ever felt that involved in politics but I guess this is different. I am so excited about Obama's inauguration tomorrow. I was considering taking a day off this week since I worked 6 days last week and am very much thinking about making it tomorrow so I can watch the inauguration.
Yesterday we watched the HBO special at the Lincoln Memorial (I was glad to be able to watch it even though we don't normally have HBO). It was great to see all the actors and musicians come out in support of Obama and the upcoming change in this country. I really enjoyed seeing Obama and his family sitting there watching and just looking like a normal sweet family. Obama seemed to really have fun, at times even singing along and bopping his head to the music. He is such a laid back guy. I really am excited to finally see him in the oval office.
I know it's not going to be easy and I know there is a lot of hard work to be done and I hope that the world isn't putting too much pressure on him but I think if anybody can do it he probably can. He seems like a guy that can hold his own next to people like Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. I loved when they were showing parts of old presidential speeches. It made me think "Wow, look at all these historical figures and the important impact they had on this country. You will never be able to show a clip of Bush speaking and have somebody think "Wow, what an amazing man !"
