Hello again
Another quick Austria update. The weather is still shaky at best. Wednesday was actually a very nice day, sunny, warm, almost summer like. But today was rainy and cooler again. Have made the best out of it though, seeing some sights (Wednesday we went to Schloss Grafenegg) and having lots of food and wine.
Also been able to see some of my friends. Yesterday I saw Anneliese and today I took the train into Vienna to meet up with my friend Lydia. Was nice to be out and about in Vienna even though it was pretty rainy. We still had a good time though. Even sat outside for our lunch and drinks, under a covered part, so it worked out ok. Strolled through the Prater amusement park on our way out.
Not too many plans for the rest of the stay right now. Monday I am going to take the train into Vienna again to meet with some more friends.

Hello from Austria
From 100 degrees with sun and humidity down to bareley 60F (38C to 15C) with rain. Quite the change. But at the moment I am happy not to be sweating anymore and no matter what the weather is like here I still get to relax, eat lots of food and visit some sights.
Today we went to the Schallaburg where they had a neat exhibit on Venice. Then on to lunch and afterwards to Stift Göttweig, abbey/monastery. Even though it was rather rainy and cool it was still a nice day.
Tomorrow we don't have that many plans. Going to spend the afternoon at the hairdresser. Getting my hair colored again. So mostly just a relaxing day. Will probably sleep in too. Wednesday the temperatures are supposed to go up again a bit so that should be good. Will also go into Vienna to see some friends eventually.

All packed and ready to go
So it seems like I am all packed and ready to go. Although packing in 89F (32C) heat and crazy humidity is not fun, let me tell you. Especially considering that the weather is pretty opposite in Austria right now so I needed to make sure to pack some long sleeved things too. Right now I am wondering what I am forgetting as usual. I am sure I'll think of something as soon as I lay down and turn the light off. Usually the way it goes.
One more day at work tomorrow and then I am off to the airport and on a plane tomorrow night. Looking forward to 2 weeks of relaxing, eating lots of yummy food and not worrying about too much. Once I get back there will be lots of things waiting for me at work. Will need to prepare for the schools to start back up and also cross train on another function/position in the company so I am ready to go when that person goes on vacation.

One more week
Ok one more week before my trip to Austria. Can't believe time has flown by that quickly. I remember when I booked those plane tickets way back in the beginning of March. It seemed AGES ago. And now it's just one week. I am excited but also just a little stressed. Still a lot to do before I get on that plane, especially at work. But all in all everything is coming together fairly nicely. Managed to run a bunch of errands yesterday for all the non-work related stuff (some gifts I am bringing to Austria etc)
Also had a really nice anniversary (our American anniversary was July 12th) dinner at the Hopkins Inn yesterday. The weather was perfect. Great sitting outside weather, great views overlooking the lake, great food. Well, almost perfect until the bugs came, got bitten all over but oh well. It was still a nice evening out. :)

Summer
Finally past the 4th of July holiday. :) Things are slooowly starting to settle down a little. I am training a new girl but I have three days of training done already and she seems to be catching on - fingers crossed. So I am hopeful that things will get better and I'll be able to get everything organized before I leave for Austria. Less than 2 weeks now.
Not too much else new. Mowed the lawn today and did a little of weeding in the front yard to make things look a little neater and nicer. Other than that just starting the final prep stages for my Austria trip now. Will be leaving on July 22nd and coming back August 5th. Will be nice to be away from work and not have to worry about anything really for 2 weeks.
I need some good reading material for my trip. Looking for some light, easy summer reads. Anyone have any good recommendations? I will probably download a few books on my Kindle but just want to have some ideas on what to look for before I do it.

4th of July weekend
Happy 4th of July to everyone in the US! I am just happy that I finally made it to this point which means I now "only" have to deal with the aftermath (any customers who claim to not have known that we were closed for the holiday - I am sure we will come in on Tuesday and find plenty of messages on our overnight answering machine, people trying to place orders, looking for orders and whatnot) We will see what next week brings.
I now have less than 3 weeks to go before I leave for Austria which is very exciting but also a little bit daunting as I still have a lot to get done before then. But I am sure as always things will work themselves out one way or another. They always do.
No real plans for this weekend. We worked yesterday, have today and tomorrow off. Today was mostly a veg out-do nothing kind of day. Relaxed, caught up on some emails, did a few things/chores around the house. For dinner we will probably check out a new Spanish tapas bar that opened up in Danbury not too long ago. We really fell in love with tapas restaurants when we were in Australia in January. Hope this one turns out to be good. :)
