Christmas Mail
Enjoying a pretty relaxed day off. I finished all my Christmas cards (with the help of the cats as you can see in the picture). The international ones I wrote on Saturday+Sunday, then today I finished up all the US+Canada ones.
Taking a little break now. In a minute I want to start organizing all my gifts that need to be mailed, sorting them into different piles and wrapping everything so we can get to the post office soon. Not sure if I will get it all done today but I will try.
Still need to put up the decorations around the house too. Will try and do that one night after work maybe. There just seems to always be more things to do and never enough time. At least all the cards are done so that's good. Still need to confirm a few addresses to make sure I have everything right but other than that I am done.
Mail update: Sorry, still no letters have gone out. :( I am so behind. :( Received letters from/still owe replies to: Becki/KY, Charles/TN, Lotte/Denmark, Jessica/DE, Jetta/Finland, Alex/Germany and Nina/WA.

Happpy Thanksgiving
Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone. :) The first year in a while we were here in CT. Had a nice day. We slept in, lounged around the house for a bit and then went to dinner at the Stonehenge Inn in Ridgefield with Mike's sister, niece and nephew.
Today I am at work but am off tomorrow and Sunday. Yay. :) Then work on Monday and off on Tuesday (fingers crossed) because I am working next week Saturday. Our office at work is right across the street from a big shopping mall and their parking lot has been packed since this morning. You could not pay me enough to go there today on Black Friday. Yikes. :)
This weekend I need to get started on my Christmas cards. I need to ask some people for updated addresses, will have to check my list this weekend to see who I am missing. If any of you have changed addresses since last year let me know. :)
I also need to put up our Christmas decorations inside the house but maybe I will wait until Tuesday for that. I am not sure about the Christmas tree this year. Our kittens are a little older now but still pretty nutty so I don't know how they will handle having a tree around. Maybe we will use all non-breakable decorations this year.

Still busy
Finally another update from me. It's just been so busy I haven't had any time to do anything really. Things are sort of getting better. Everything is still really hectic and we still have a lot of bugs to work out, figure out new procedures for certain things but it seems like there might just be a light at the very end of this tunnel.
Of course Thanksgiving is making things extra hectic as well. The holidays always tend to be cry, figuring out all the scheduling, seeing who needs to be called on what day, who should be reminded to take extra on their deliveries etc. etc. We are staying in CT for Thanksgiving this year. The past few years we have taken weekend trips up to Canada but things are just a little too crazy still for that right now. Instead we are going out to a nice dinner at the Stonehenge Inn in Ridgefield with Mike's sister, niece and nephew. Looking forward to it.
Then December 10-12 we will be in Cape Cod so that's the next thing to look forward to. And we also just booked a 2 night stay over New Year's in Kennebunkport, Maine so I am looking forward to that as well. Always nice to have some things to look forward to. :) We will also have to start planning our trip to Australia in January soon. We need to look for flights but it's just been so crazy and hectic we haven't really had a chance. Soon though. :)

Busy, busy, busy
It's been super crazy at work lately and I honestly don't even know anymore if I am coming or going half the time. We moved part of our operations (distribution: drivers, route supervisors, trucks, loading, etc.) to a different location which means having to deal with two different offices. All this happened November 1st and it's just been a lot of craziness since then. Of course it was expected that things wouldn't go smoothly right away but it's hard to deal with the constant stream of issues that come up. One of the offices still doesn't have internet access which means they can't connect to our system, no access to email or scanning any data either. Hopefully that will get set up today finally.
On top of all that I am short handed because one of my employees quit with no notice whatsoever. I know people are entitled to make the decisions they feel they need to make but the timing is wonderful as usual. Oh well.
Thanksgiving is also really just around the corner which means I need to somehow find time to get everything set up and figure out schedules and alternate delivery days for everyone. I know I definitely won't be bored till the end of the year. :)
On a brighter note we just booked a weekend on Cape Cod for December. Will be staying in Chatham in this lovely inn, Dec. 10-12. Can't wait! I also started on some of my Christmas shopping online over the weekend so I can get everything in time to mail out. Was a little easier last year when I was able to deliver a lot of things in person.
