Eggspectation .. the finish to a weekend with too much yummy food :)
Hello again really quickly. Can't believe it's Sunday already and time for us to head back to CT. Before we leave we are going to Eggspectation, a really yummy place we discovered in Montreal last time, for breakfast.
Had a really great time here even though it was super cold. Went to the National Gallery of Canada (an art museum), the Candian Museum of Civilization and strolled through the ByWard Market where I bought spices, tea and a shirt from the Hard Rock Cafe.
Mail update: I mailed the letters I wrote on the way up on Friday. Since then no other mail has gone out. Received letters from/still owe replies to:Tiffany/OK and Jetta/Finland.

Hello from Ottawa
Hello from Ottawa. :) We arrived at the hotel about an hour ago. It didn't take us all that much longer than expected considering that we started to encounter snow around Plattsburgh, NY. It was weird to be driving into a total winter landscape.
We are staying at the Ottawa Marriott which is really nice. Our room is huge, we even have a balcony (although that's of course kind of useless since it's freezing outside) The bathroom floor is heated which I find very cool. Yes it's the little things that impress me. :) We are heading out to dinner in a little bit. Going to the Fish Market Restaurant which I am very much looking forward to since I am starving. :) HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone again. :)
Mail update for today. On the way up I wrote letters to: Lotte/Denmark, Jessica/DE, Eunice/Malta, Celia/MA and Steff/ME. Received letters from/still owe replies to:Tiffany/OK and Jetta/Finland.
PS: For anyone interested the Rachael Ray show episode that we went to see is airing tomorrow so check it out and let me know if you could see me on TV. I TIVOd it so I will watch it when we get back. :)

Happy Thanksgiving !
HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone here in the US. :) I hope you all have a really nice day with loads of food surrounded by people you truly care about.
We are off to Canada today. It's close to 7 am now, going to have breakfast at a local diner and then start our drive. It's snowing in Ottawa and they are expecting 4-7 inches of snow so I guess we will get to experience our first snow of the season. It's also REALLY cold ... but we mostly planned to do indoor stuff (museums, etc.) anyway so it shouldn't matter too much. It will be nice to just get away for a little bit.

Blowing off the holiday
Just a quick post to say hi. It's been really busy at work, mostly a combination of having three new people around (I have spent a lot of time training lately) and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday this Thursday. The holidays always make things crazy at work, trying to figure out delivery schedules for all the customers and making sure everything is taken care of.
Since we have been so busy with everything we decided to just blow off the holiday altogether this year. Instead we are going to Ottawa/Canada for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun). It will be nice to be away for a few days. Of course it was stressful to make sure that everything will be covered while we are away but once we are gone it will be nice. :)
I tried to go through my Christmas card stuff today to make sure that I have all current addresses, enough cards, labels, stickers and so on. I came up with a total of 75 cards that I need to write ... yes call me crazy. I put myself through this every year though. And this year I am even getting a later start since we will be gone for the long weekend. Oh well, I am sure it will work out one way or another.

Rachael Ray
Guess who went to a taping of the Rachael Ray show today ? Yes, that would be me :) I applied for audience tickets again when it didn't work out the last time around and this time everything worked out. :)
I had a great time even though we had to wait forever. We arrived a little before 9 am and stood in line outside for about an hour and a half (and just to let you know, it was really cold). Then we finally were able to go inside and had to wait for another hour and a half, going through metal detectors and sitting in a really small room. But once we finally made it inside the studio it was all very cool. The guest on the show was Dustin Hoffman so that was really awesome. He is a really tiny guy, even smaller than I would have expected. I really had a good time watching the show and seeing how everything was made. And Rachael Ray was really fun of course. :)
PS: Oh and of course, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mom. :)

Busy times
Ok here I am again real quick. It's been a really long week and things seemed to fall apart in quite all sorts of ways (one employee just stopped showing up altogether and someone else gave me their 2-weeks notice) but today was hopefully the turning point. I had someone new start today and I actually have a good feeling about her so let's keep our fingers crossed. Someone else new will start next week and maybe I'll actually get a break then. We will see.
Other than that not much else has happened. I actually managed to take the day off yesterday (working this coming Saturday) and did a lot of stuff that I had been wanting to do for a while (laundry, changing the bedspread/sheets, looking through catalogs to get some ideas for Christmas gifts etc)
Going to watch some recorded shows now and have some wine. It's time to unwind after yet another busy day. :)

Lazy weekend
Another short update here from me. 
It's Sunday afternoon and somehow the weekend really flew by. We didn't do much at all, mostly just relaxed. I think we just needed a relaxing weekend after all the stuff we have been doing. I still want to answer all my emails, I am really horribly behind with those. Letter-wise I am actually very caught up surprisingly. I only have one letter left and I really should have written that one so I didn't have any left but somehow that didn't happen.
Otherwise work has been very busy and is only going to get busier over the next few weeks. I also realized today that Christmas is really not that far away. Wow, time really flies.
At least I am feeling better with my cold. I still have a bit of a cough that is especially annoying at night but otherwise I am mostly better so that's good. Let's hope that this week won't be too hectic and crazy.

Busy Days
I know, I know, I have been absent for quite some time. First I was really busy while my friend Joanne was visiting (10/18-10/10/28) and now I am crazy busy at work. Plus I have caught some kind of bug and am fighting a sore throat, sneezing, coughing and just general yuckiness. My voice is starting to go too - I really hope that doesn't happen.
Definitely had a great time while Joanne was here though. We went to MA to the Yankee Candle Flagship Store, to Portsmouth/NH to see Rockapella in concert, had pizza at Arturo's in NYC, spent the next day (my birthday) shopping in NYC and went to Montreal for a 3-day-weekend. So yeah, we kept busy. :) I have pictures that I need to upload and post. I still need to post the pictures from our England trip in September too.
Wow, I can't believe that it's really November already. Been so busy at work this week. Juggling two new employees and next week I will have a third one. On top of that I am trying to find time to prepare for Thanksgiving as that is just around the corner. There is tons of prep work to do at work, figure out and arrange delivery schedules, see which customers need what, so on and so forth. Anyway, I will try and post more often again. Leave me a comment if there is anything I missed. Thanks. :)
