That's what I feel like today
This picture of Dinah couldn't express it any better. That is exactly how I feel today. It's just one of those lazy Sundays. I am sitting here with a big mug of Earl Grey-Darjeeling tea, having the little electric heater on low because I am freezing, watching the cats. :)
God, I have an exciting life *g*. The truth is I really enjoy my mindless weekends. Every so often it's nice to just wedge out, drink tea, play computer games and all in all just accomplish NOTHING. :)
I should be writing letters and maybe I will get around to that in a little bit. For now I will keep surfing the web, browsing tea and stationery sites, oh and candle sites of course. Some virtual window shopping as I call it. :)

Dinner + Movie
It's the weekend - finally. And the best part - I am off this weekend. I have come to really appreciate my weekends off.
This week seemed like it would never end. The only highlight was Thursday when I went out with my friend Sharon after work. Went to see the movie "Just like Heaven" starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Really liked it and am putting it on my "Must Buy" DVD list. :)
After the movies we went to eat at Applebee's and had some time to catch up. Sharon's birthday was on Monday so it was nice to go out and celebrate a little.
No big plans for this weekend. Went to Hallmark earlier to get some birthday cards. Also bought some more stationery. I am a true stationery addict. I could probably easily open my own stationery shop. :) My reasoning behind the stationery purchase was that I had a $3 coupon which made it seem less bad.
Also have a $5 coupon for Adagio tea so I will be browsing their website some time this afternoon. How can life get possibly any better ? ;)

Short Update
Sorry it's been a while since I last updated. I am always thinking about stuff I could put in my blog ... but then it never happens. I get side-tracked and busy and tend to forget or get lazy. And well, by the time I remember the event has usually passed and it's usually not relevant anymore. So again, sorry. I'll try to do better. I have the best intentions.
Short Work Update: My new boss Charlie whom I wrote about in my last post is actually no longer working at my company. Yeah .. I was very surprised myself on Friday when I was told that they decided he didn't fit in with the company and decided to look for someone else. I do believe that if he had been given the proper time he could have been a great asset to the company. But hey, it's not my decision to make. There are some rumblings about who might be the new boss but nothing solid yet. Will keep you all updated.
So that's about all the news from my end. It's only Tuesday and I feel like this week will never end. Silly question before I go: If I decided to call out sick today, who would I call ? Seeing that I have no boss right now. *g*

Cats are helpful (or so they think)
It's my day off today so I slept in late which is always nice. After getting up, having some pizza for breakfast (how can a day off be started in a better way than by having pizza and tea ?) I decided to get some things done I have been wanting to do.
For example putting out the new bed set I bought for fall. Of course the kitties decided to help me. In the picture on the left you can see Dinah "helping". :) If you click on the small picture on the right you can see Ollie also "helping". What thoughtful cats I have. :) If you would like to see what the bed set looks like put together just click on this link and it will show you the picture. Of course no cats in this picture - so only half as nice. :)
Surfing the web now, should be answering some emails and letters. Will see what happens later on. Also planning on getting the rest of my fall decorations (wreaths, garlands, little pumpkins, etc.) out to match the whole look. For now I am just enjoying a peaceful day by myself - much needed. :)

Green Day Rocks (plus Roof + Work Update)
Can't believe another week has gone by again already. Yesterday night we went to see Green Day in Hartford and I just have one thing to say "Green Day ROCKS". I really loved the show they put on and I am more than ever convinced that Billy Joe is really hot. :) They played all their famous songs from "American Idiot" along with some interesting covers like Queen's "We're the champions" and Otis Redding's "Stand by Me". I was truly impressed with the show and had a great time. They made sure that everyone was having an awesome time. :)
Roof Update: They finished the front half of our roof yesterday as well so our leak is contained and I am very happy about that. Monday they will finish the back side of it so then we will have an entire new roof.
Work Update: It was my boss' Moe last day yesterday. Really weird to think that he is gone now. Along with him another supervisor left as well. So now we actually have a whole new distribution team. Moe's replacement is Charlie. So far he seems like a very nice guy who has a lot of great ideas. I think the department will undergo a lot of drastic changes over the next few months if everything goes as Charlie envisions. I can't really complain since everything he has planned sounds pretty good. He wants to change the whole layout of our office, make it more friendly and nicer looking to boost morale. He has lots of changes in mind for my dept. which all sound good to me. I am curious how my employees will react to everything. Let's see how it all plays out. Maybe my dept. will actually move into a more professional future. There is always hope. :)
Today I didn't really do much besides talk to a lot of my friends online. Talked to my best friend Joanne who I haven't talked to in a while so it was good to catch up. Also happened to see my pals Kirsty and Lexi online so had a chance to catch up with them as well. Had some yummy "Ruby Chai" tea that Lexi had sent me while chatting online. And then pizza + garlic bread for dinner. YUMMMM. Now we are going to watch some of the episodes of "Lost" on DVD. All in all a very nice Saturday. :)

Hello from Miami
A quick hello from Miami. Having a great time even though it's sooo hot and humid here. It's amazing how muggy it gets here. One minute it's sunny, then cloudy, then pouring rain, then both at the same time. It's defnitely interesting weather.
We have mostly been relaxing. Browsed through a bunch of shops, had yummy dinners at South Beach and went to the beach yesterday. The ocean was incredibly warm, I didn't want to get back out at all. So nice.
Today we went to tour Vizcaya which was nice. Large pretty gardens that were sort of designed to look like Venice. Very different look being in South Florida. Very nice.
Going to enjoy the rest of today. Tomorrow it's back home already. :( Oh well, every vacation has to end some day I guess.
PS: Happy Labor Day everyone !

Going to Miami
So our trip to Miami has finally arrived.
I still have a million things to do. Had another long day at work. :( Still need to pack, print out my addresses for postcards, get my letter writing stuff together, ....
AND get ready for bed because I have to get up at 3:30 tomorrow. Ugh. Our flight leaves at 7:20 so that means I have to get up super early so we can get to the airport, check in and all that. But looking on the bright side I will be in Miami tomorrow around noon. Yay. :)
I feel very blessed and almost guilty to be able to splurge and go on a fun vacation especially in light of the recent events in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. I promise I will enjoy myself very much. All my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the affected areas.
