Most of last week was very slow at work since the schools were on spring break and it always tends to slow down when that happens. So I was pretty bored all week but then Friday we had an absolutely crazy day. I guess it made up for the rest of the day. Luckily I had the weekend off which was nice. The only bad part was that it rained ALL weekend. It was so nice all week and as soon as the weekend came around -- RAIN !!!
Well, anyway, we went to see Billy Joel Saturday night which was really cool. He played for 2 1/2 hours and really played a great show. Both Mike and I have been wanting to see him live so I am glad we finally managed to get tickets and go. Yay. :)
Sunday was a fairly lazy day. Managed to catch up on some of my letters which was good. I am still pretty behind but at least I got some done.
Mail Update since my last post: Received letters from: Lexi/DC, Kristy/Georgia, Nicki/Australia, Caroline/Scotland, Hayley/UK and Alison/UK.
Mailed letters out to: Nina/Washington, Karin/Switzerland, Carmen/Germany, Kirsty/UK, Caroline/Scotland and Hayley/UK.
So I still have 8 letters to reply to. Hopefully I'll catch up on some later this afternoon. Planning on playing some Sims now but will try and get some of my mail done later. Will update when I do.

And another weekend gone by
I can't believe the weekend is already over again. Where did it go ? I actually had two days off this weekend but somehow it just flew by. Grrr.
Got up kind of late on Saturday and mostly just surfed the web and talked to my friend Kirsty online throughout the afternoon. Then around 5:30 we left for NYC to go to the show. We saw the "Odd Couple" on Broadway which was really funny. I loved it ! Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderik are really great and did an excellent job. After the show we went to an Italian restaurant Osteria al Doge right near the theatre. I love going there as it brings back lots of memories of when Mike and I first met. :) Had blue crab bisque, lasagna and tiramisu. Super yummy !
Today we got up pretty late again as we didn't get to bed until about 1:30 am or so. Went to the grocery store to get a few things and to Subway to get lunch. Called my parents, my poor mom is sick with a fever (sending her well wishes). After lunch called my friend Joanne in the UK and talked to her for about an hour. Then decided to go for a walk since it was a really nice spring day today. I discovered a nice neighborhood near us that's great for walking so I was happy. Saw a bunch of squirrels, a cat and two dogs on my walk. :)
After my walk I wrote some letters. So letters are going out tomorrow to: Nadine/Tenerife, Lexi/DC and Natalia/Krakow. Since the last update a letter also went out to Lotte/Denmark. Also received a letter from Nova/Utah.
Just got done with dinner now. Made spinach spaetzle with mushrooms sauteed in olive oil with Mrs. Dash tomato, basil, garlic seasoning and garlic knots on the side. Yummy. Probably gonna watch a movie in a bit. I wish weekends could last forvever.

Tired
This week is really dragging. I am tired.
Part of the reason is that I have been working really long hours. I am training a new employee on our closing procedures. I usually come in around 8:15 am. Monday I ended up staying till 7:45 pm, Tuesday till 7:15 pm. Today I luckily got a break and could leave at about 5:45 pm. But tomorrow and Friday I'll be back to closing again.
Then Saturday we are going to see the "Odd Couple" which I am looking forward to. After the show we will have dinner at my fave Italian restaurant Osteria al Doge right near the theatre. I know we will have a great time but we probably won't be home until 1 or 2 am. I am just tired thinking about it - especially after the week I've had. But of course it'll be a nice break from all the work - plus it'll be the first Saturday since November that I am not working (besides the ones when I was on vacation).
Letter Update: Received letters from Hayley/UK, Angela/Virginia and Jessica/Delaware. A reply went out to Hayley.

Bagels, Letters and Wine
Sunday and I have the day off so that's nice. :) Decided to go to New Canaan, CT to eat at one of the yummy Bruegger's bagel shops. It's about a 1/2 hour ride which isn't so bad. Plus it's a nice ride with views of some pretty houses. :) We discovered Bruegger's the first time when we were in Pittsburgh. It's a chain based in Vermont. We have also eaten at ones in Boston, MA, Trumbull, CT and Avon, CT so far. They have absolutely delicious bagels and really good bagel sandwiches. Wish we had one in our town. :)
After that we headed headed back home and I managed to catch up on my mail. I am proud to report that letters are going out tomorrow to: Nina/Seattle, Kirsty/UK, Erika/Italy, Carmen/Malta, Karin/Switzerland and Barbara/Austria.
Made some shrimp scampi over rotini pasta with garlic knots for dinner. Going to watch some recorded shows and maybe a movie now. Oh, weekends .. wish they would never end. :)
PS: Check out this article about an Austrian wine. Gruener Veltliner is getting more and more popular in the States it seems. Yay. :)

April Fool's Day
Haven't had a chance to update this week. Just been really busy somehow.
Had a day off on Thursday but not really. Went to a managment seminar in NYC which was a neat experience. I have never been to anything like that so it was pretty interesting. It was very inspirational and uplifting in a way and made me think a lot. It talked a lot about how you can influence the outcome of situations by controlling your emotions and being more positive, certain techniques to use to help your employees and so on.
Rest of the week flew by as well since I was busy training. Today I was able to get out at 4 pm which was nice considering that I usually have to be there a lot later when I am working Saturdays.
Since my last update replies went out to: Kristy/Savannah and Melanie/Ohio.
Also received letters from: Nina/Seattle, Erika/Italy and Nadine/Tenerife.
