Lazy Day Off

I am spending another lazy day at home. I got up late as usual, then decided to dye my hair. I used a semi-permanent color by Loreal (Redwood Auburn) that washes out in 28 times. It doesn't have amonia in it so it's supposed to be better for your hair. The last thing my hair needs is even more stress. :) To see the results click here. Let me know what you think. :)
Right now I am talking to my friend Joanne online and further procratinating on those letters and emails that I should be writing. Well maybe later. ;)

Cat Nap

OliverDinah

Aren't they real cuties ? Both Oliver (left) and Dinah (right) are enjoying a relaxing Sunday. :)

I have managed to catch up on most of my chores (dishes, laundry, cleaning the kitty litter, ...) so it's been a productive day so far. I still haven't written any letters but I am hoping that I'll maybe get around to that tomorrow. My email inbox is filled with 2 and 3 week old emails as well. I truly do feel bad, I've turned into a really horrible pen pal. :( I'll do my best to catch up on my mail later today or tomorrow.

We are going out to dinner later which I am very much looking forward to as I'm already starving again. Going to Chuck's which is a very yummy steakhouse with some of the best steaks I've ever eaten.
I am definitely enjoying my 3 day weekend. :)

Lazy Saturday

You are Phoebe
Which Charmed witch are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Here's another fun quiz. I am a big "Charmed" fan and am impatiently waiting for the new season starting in the fall. It's definitely one of my favorite shows. :)
Been lazy most of today, got up really late and haven't done much since. Of course I intended to write letters but haven't even started. Oh well. :)
Went to the hairdresser yesterday and had my hair cut. It was long overdue since my ends were all split and frayed. I will post a picture of the new look as soon as I take a photo of myself. :)
Let's see what tomorrow brings.

PS: I added a cute Weather Pixie on the left side of my blog. I thought it was just adorable. She changes her clothes according to the weather and also shows day/night, clouds/rain/sun and so on. Pretty neat.

Online Karaoke, Bush Jokes and Immigration News

karaoke By the ways of grrrlmeetsworld here's a link to some online karaoke. I thought that was a neat idea, now I just need to learn how to sing. *g* I doubt anybody would want to hear me sing along to those songs. ;)

I also came across this funny video clip about Bush and Kerry's election campaign. It's a parody of "This Land is Your Land" and absolutely hysterical. Go and watch it now. :)

paperwork It's been another busy week but tomorrow is Friday - finally. I will be off on Saturday, Sunday and Monday bearing any disasters that might happen. For now I am looking forward to my 3-day weekend. I need to catch up on my mail and mainly just relax.

We also need to gather some photos and other "evidence" that our marriage was "entered in good faith" as I received a letter in the mail today from the immigration office that we will be called for an interview at some point. Believe it or not we are still working on removing the conditions from my green card so I can become a permanent US resident once and for all. So some time soon we will get another letter in the mail stating a time and date for our interview. We are supposed to bring any evidence (joint bank accounts, insurance policies, joint bills, income tax returns, affidavits from friends, photos, ...) that shows that our marriage was entered in good faith and is real. Even though we have nothing to hide I am really not looking forward to this interview. Oh well. :)

Movies + Baseball

Well I finally made it through the week after working 10 hour days Monday through Friday and having to go in at 7:30 on Saturday. I was very glad when it was finally time to go home on Saturday around 2:30 pm. What a week. :)

After being lazy for a while on Saturday afternoon we decided to watch a movie we had rented on Netflix. I love their rental service, means we always have a movie or two on hand to watch. So we watched "Intolerable Cruelty" starring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Was a good movie.
Afterwards we decided to watch another movie "Something's Gotta Give" starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. It was good too, a little longer than it needed to be but still good.

Today we went to see a Mets game and were really lucky with the weather. It was drizzling the whole time throughout the game but didn't start to really pour until the game was over around 4:15 pm or so.
Afterwards we went to eat at our favorite pizza place Arturo's in the Village.

Now that we are home we will watch another movie called "Hope Springs". We'll see how it is. :)
And tomorrow it's Monday already again. Oh well.

My name in hieroglyphics

hieroglyphics As I was surfing the web this morning before work I came across this neat link. You can translate your own name into ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. I thought that was cool so I decided to give it a try. Sure looks prettier than just plain old "Hannelore." :)

It's been one long week and we are not even at the end. I have worked 10 hour days training a new girl and am also going to work a 6th day (Sat) this week. Can't wait for Sunday to roll around.

Entertainment Center + Pre-Anniversary Celebration

While I was at work yesterday Mike started to put the rest of our entertainment center together. After I got home we finished it (well I shouldn't say we - I assisted by handing him the screwdriver, screws or other items *g*) and here's the end result. Doesn't it look nice ? I am very happy with the way it looks. Now we just need to find some things to put in it which I am sure won't be a problem. :)

Tomorrow is our 2nd anniversary. I am probably one of the few people with two different anniversaries. :) Our first and official wedding was in Austria on Feb. 10, 2001. Our second and bigger celebration (bridesmaids, big white dress, reception, dancing, cake, ...) took place in the US on July 12, 2002. July 12 is also the day that Mike originally proposed to me in 2000. So that's how it all comes together. :)

So tomorrow is our 2nd anniversary counting from the July date. Even though February is our real wedding date the July date will always be special to me as well.
To celebrate we are going to see the movie "Before Sunset". I have been wanting to see this movie ever since I heard that it was coming out. It's the sequel to the movie "Before Sunrise" which came out 9 years ago. It was the story of the American college student Jesse (Ethan Hawke) traveling across Europe on an euro-rail pass meeting the French grad student Celine (Julie Delpy) on a Budapest-Vienna train. He convinces her to get off the train in Vienna with him and they spend the night together before parting ways in the morning. The movie had a lot of great dialogue and always ranked among one of my all-time favorites. Of course I also loved the fact that it was set in Vienna. :)
The sequel "Before Sunset" is set 9 years after they originally met on the train on their way to Vienna. This time they meet up in Paris. I am really excited to see it and I know that it's really not the kind of movie Mike usually likes to watch so I am very happy that he agreed to go and see it with me. Thank you Mike. :)

After the movie we are going to dinner at "Legal Seafoods" in White Plains, NY. The movie is not being played anywhere around here so we'll have to go there instead. I'm sure it will be a very yummy dinner.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Tomorrow it's already back to work again. I am sure it will be a busy week.

State Funeral

Today was the day of Klestil's funeral. It showed how well respected he was throughout the world since his funeral turned out to be the biggest meeting of national leaders in Austria since 1945. Altogether 26 head of states and 35 delegates attended. Among many leaders and royals Arnold Schwarzenegger represented the US and Vladimir Putin came from Russia.
