Lord of the Rings
So I finally gave in and watched the first Lord of the Rings movie last night. :) In order to understand that you have to know me and my utter resistance to watch it ever since it came out. I just didn't want to be part of all the craziness surrounding this movie. All of my friends have bugged me over and over to watch it so last night I finally gave in and we watched it on our new big screen TV with awesome surround sound.
I have to say the sound was really cool and the scenery was very pretty.
Overall I didn't dislike it as much as I thought I would but it's definitely not something that I will watch over and over. I liked the scenery, the costumes and the sound. And I do like fantasy stuff so I liked the wizard and the elves and all that stuff. But all in all I just wasn't mesmerized by it like everybody else seemed to be.
I guess it was good that I watched it just to see what it is really like and even I have to admit that it did make for a good movie night. :)

Where did all the time go ?
My friend Joanne had this neat link on her weblog so I decided to "steal" it and post it on here as well.
According to this I have spent 11.7 years sleeping. Quite impressive. :) I am 40 % busy bee, 40 % cat nap (I do love to take naps with my cat Ollie *g*) and 20 % sloth.
I've spent 2.1 years eating - that figure should probably be higher. I feel like I am constantly eating or snacking on something. :)
Curious ? Take the test and see what your results are. :)
Well I lived through another day at work - this week seems like it's being endless. Tomorrow is Friday but I also need to work on Saturday so that means 2 more days. Can't wait for Sunday. :)

And who ...
... loves our new furniture the most ? Of course our cats. :) Minutes after the furniture was delivered they were both happily sitting on it. Cuties. :)
It's my day off today and the furniture place had no mercy with me and scheduled an early morning delivery. Oh well. :) Even though I am still sleepy I am very happy with the furniture and absolutely in love with our new livingroom.
It's almost strange walking into the livingroom. It feels like I am walking into somebody else's house/room because it's so different from the rest of the house now. Definitely not a bad thing though. :)
We will have to look at the layout later and maybe move around a few more things. We will see what looks best. For now I am just happy that everything has arrived and is safely in place. Now we just have to wait for our entertainment wall unit to ship and then we will be all set .... until our next house project. ;)

New curtains
Today we put up our new curtains. Don't they look nice ? Of course it was a pain to put up the rods and everything but the end result looks very pretty I think.
I am not sure where the whole day went. It's already 8 pm and all we have to show for are a new set of curtains. :)
But we did do a lot of stuff, went to Circuit City (yet AGAIN) and Target. I also put all the books back on the bookshelf and the frames back on the other shelf. The room is slowly starting to look more like a regular room again.
And tomorrow it's already Monday again and back to work. Oh well. :) At least we have Wednesday to look forward to. Can't wait for our other furniture to arrive.

Our new TV
Here are some pictures of our brand new TV that arrived today. It's a Hitachi 46-inch widescreen TV. I have to say it's definitely huge and looks pretty amazing in our livingroom. :)
We also got digital cable and HDTV with it so we have a whole bunch of new channels now. I love the digital cable with the built-in TV guide and all the other little nifty features it offers.
We will get a sourround sound system from Circuit City this afternoon and then enjoy watching our new TV sitting on the floor in the livingroom. The joys of the 21st century. :)
We also got curtain rods and curtains earlier today so we will put those up tomorrow maybe. I will post more pictures soon. :)
