And the weekend is almost over again. I never know where those two days go. Oh well I guess. :(
Had a relaxing day today though. Talked to my friend Joanne on MSN for a while, went out to Kohl's to get some shopping done (got some nice stuff for the kitchen, a non-stick pot and a big plastic spoon and some jeans and stuff for Mike) and got some things done around the house.
In a little while the Oscar's will be on TV. It's always fun to watch them so that's what we will be doing tonight. And then tomorrow it's back to work already again. Let's hope for a not so bad week. :)

Had a nice relaxing Saturday. Slept in real late, had some tea and talked to my friend Joanne on MSN Messenger for a while.
After that we headed down to NYC and checked out the newly opened Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. I remember they started building it around the time when Mike and I first started dating. It's quite an impressive building and would be a very cool place to live. Most of the apartments overlook Central Park and the skyline. Well if we ever get rich we will get a place there. =)
After walking around the stores at the Time Warner Center we headed down to the Village to eat at our favorite place Arturo's. The best coal oven pizza EVER. =)
On a different note I finally broke down today and ordered "Friends - The Complete First Six Seasons". I have always been a big Friends fan and since I still had some money left from my Amazon gift certificate from Christmas I figured it was a good way to spend it.

I still have to get through the day today but the Friday feeling is making it all easier. And I can't wait to have Saturday and Sunday off. Working every second Saturday I really appreciate the weekends when I have two days in a row off.
Hope everybody is having a good Friday and weekend. :)

That's how I feel right now. =)
I was hoping for an easy going morning after our night out at the game. UConn won and the game was lots of fun. Afterwards we went to have a little snack at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants Chevy's.
After getting to work this morning I realized that everything that could have possibly gone wrong went wrong. My co-worker Dan called and said he couldn't make it in till 11 o'clock. On top of that a lot of deliveries couldn't go out due to a driver calling in sick and us being so short-handed as is so a lot of customers had to be called. I won't bore you with the details. I will just say it was a BIG mess.
I never really caught up the whole day even after Dan came in at 11. It was just a hectic day.
I made chicken and rice for dinner, did the dishes and some other little stuff. I will take a bath now and probably call it an early night tonight. Let's hope for a better day tomorrow. :)

We are going down to New York City today to see the UConn Huskies play against St. John's Red Stom at Madison Square Garden.
Out of all the sports I think I like basketball the best and it's always fun to go to a game so I am looking forward to it. It means we will have to leave work at about 4:20 pm or so which should be interesting. I haven't left work before 6 o'clock in ages I think. :)
Either way I am sure it will be lots of fun. We were orginally going to take the train down but decided to drive since it will be easier with our schedule.
Let's hope they win. Go Huskies ! =)

Look what I found rummaging through some old boxes. =)
I was looking for some photos and started digging around in the garage where I still have some old boxes left from my move from Austria (I know it's been about 2 1/2 years since I moved and I still haven't fully unpacked - what can I say ? *g*) So while I was looking for something else I came across those three pictures which I had totally forgotten I even had.
There is no date on the back of the photos but I am guessing they date back to late 1995 or early-mid 1996. They show my best Austrian friend from High School Barbara and her then boyfriend Alexander. They made such a cute couple. Looking at these pics I get this fuzzy feeling you get when you look at something you haven't seen in a while and get all nostalgic. :)
Barbara is 23 now and has a beautiful daughter Sophie. She's still friends with Alexander but they are not together anymore. (as far as I know anyway *g*) Finding those old pictures made me want to catch up with her again. We used to be best friends all through High School sharing every secret. I guess over time we just lost touch although we occasionaly still do talk.
Well that's enough for this walk down memory lane. It's Monday and another week lies ahead of us. Let's hope it will be a good week. :)

More food stories. =)
I was just surfing the web and was looking at the Austrian news site ORF and came across this article about the popular Austrian dessert "Krapfen".
For all you Non-Europeans a Krapfen basically has a donut-like consistency and is filled with apricot jam and topped with powdered sugar.
If I had to compare it to something American I would say it's most similiar to a jelly donut.
It's a popular dessert/snack all year round but it's especially popular during Carnival season, hence the article on the news site.
I am craving Krapfen now. =)

Had a very yummy dinner at Jim Barbarie's last night.
Had a bottle of Chardonnay and jumbo shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. For an entree I had filet mignon with stuffed shrimp and Mike had mahi mahi. All so yum. :) Then for dessert we both had crème brûlée, Mike an Irish coffee and I a tea.
I was SO full after we got home. I pretty much collapsed on the bed and couldn't move. :)
That means I got a nice amount of sleep last night so that's good.
No big plans for today. Just gonna relax and take it easy. Monday is already around the corner again.

Here's today's Garfield comic strip. My friend Joanne sent me an email saying she thinks this was written for us. And I so agree. =)
I am at work right now. After I get off work we have dinner reservations for 7:30 pm to go to a local restaurant called Jim Barbarie's. My parents sent us some money for a nice dinner for Mike's birthday. So we decided to go out tonight. That gives me something to look forward to so I can get through this long Saturday at work. :)

FRIDAY FIVE:
When was the last time you...
1. ...went to the doctor?
That was actually yesterday. Only the eye doctor but still a doctor. :) What an annoying experience as well. I wouldn't recommend Lenscrafters to anyone.
Luckily my prescription/vision didn't change very much so that's good. The rest of the experience wasn't very fun though.
2. ...went to the dentist?
Mmmmmm ...... that was when I was still living in Austria so I am sure it's been a while. I am guessing some time in 2001 maybe. I know, I know ... I should probably go for a check up at some point soon. I just don't like the dentist very much. =)
3. ...filled your gas tank?
I am one of the few people who don't own a car or even know how to drive. So I don't have an answer to that question. :)
4. ...got enough sleep?
I am not sure I can ever get enough sleep. I am like a cat when it comes to sleep. I could sleep all day long. =) The last time I got a decent amount of sleep was on Wednesday, my day off.
5. ...backed up your computer?
I am not sure. Mike's usually in charge of that. =) I know he just bought a DVD writer so we can do more effecient backups. So I imagine he will do another backup some time soon.
